    Bible Promises for your health

Proverbs 3:5-8, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths. Do not be wise in your own eyes, fear the Lord and depart from evil. This will bring health to your flesh and strength to your bones.

"YAHWEH RAPHA" - I Am The Lord Who Heals You.
In the gospel, Jesus commissions disciples to preach, teach and heal. In those days there was no health insurance, no specialist. But Jesus heals everyone who comes to Him.

"YAHWEH RAPHA" - It is called a covenant name because there are conditions to the agreement between God and the person seeking the healing. Exodus 15:26, I will not bring on you any of the diseases I brought on the Egyptians, for I am the Lord, who heals you.

Our God is a healing God. He is not just what He does, but what He is. You serve a "Lord who heals you."

Genesis 20:17, Then Abraham prayed to God, and God healed Abimelech, his wife and his slave girls so they could have children again.

Numbers 12:13, So Moses cried out to the LORD, "O God, please heal her!" And God did heal Miriam.

James 5:16, Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. - You can pray for yourself to be healed, as David did. - You can pray for others to be healed, as Abraham and Moses did.

Why do some Christians continue to have lives of bitterness?

It is mainly due to their reluctance to forgive others. Our Lord's Prayer teaches us to ask our heavenly father. "Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who is indebted to us". Our Lord Jesus Christ taught us: "For if ye forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if ye forgive not men their trespasses, neither will your Father forgive your trespasses. (Mat 6:14-15)

Isaiah 53:4-5, "Surely He hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem Him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted." But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His Stripes we are healed.

Dear beloved, By His Stripes I am Healed. The Holy Spirit applies this prophecy of Isaiah as a being fulfilled during Jesus earthly ministry.

He does not say you are going to be healed. It says; you were healed. The circumstances may say you are sick, but God's word says you are well. You have the choice of either agreeing with God's Word, or agreeing with the circumstances. Whichever one you agree with is the one that will be on your behalf. You may ask, what does it really means that by His stripes we were healed?

The Old Testament prophet declared, "The plowers plowed upon my back: they made long their furrows." (Psalms 129:3) Seven hundred and fifty years earlier, Isaiah had prophesied concerning the messiah.

"I gave my back to the smiters, and my cheeks to them that plucked off the hair: I hid not my face from shame and spitting. (Isaiah 50:6)

Jesus took the curse for us; He bore the penalty for our sins, being made a curse for us; for it is written, cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree. He bore the penalty for our sins, transgressions, sicknesses, and diseases.

Psalms 22:16, "They pierced my hands and my feet." At the time of David's prophecy, he knew nothing of crucifixion. Jesus took all of our diseases on himself at Calvary. So we know that Jesus physically existed and suffered in human form.

It said that Jesus went through 39 lashings on His back just for our healing. 39 stripes each represent a different major disease category. Peter took the 39 stripes upside-down as he died not seeing himself worthy in dying like the Lord Jesus. Insurance companies usually insure you for 36 major illnesses.
What is the biblical Origin of 39 stripes?

Deuteronomy 25:1-3, Where the Lord commands, "If there be a dispute between men, and they come into court the judges decide between them, acquitting the innocent and condemning the guilty, the judge shall cause him to lie down and be beaten in his presence with a number of stripes in proportion to his offence." 40 stripes may be given to him, but not more; lest, if one should go on to beat him with more stripes than these, your brother be degraded in your sight.

Lets note that the punishment was to be carried out in the presence of the sentencing judge. His job was to guarantee that the beating didn't exceed his command, weather 40 lashes or less. 39 lashes were standard by the time of the New Testament period. Paul and others gone through the same thing. 40 lashing were the point, where most people died, because the torture was too unbearable for any person to handle.

Every single person who came to Jesus for a healing, was healed! Just take a look at some of these verses:

Matthew 4:24, And His fame went throughout all Syria: and they brought unto Him all sick people that were taken with divers diseases and torments, and those which were possessed with devils, and those which were lunatick, and those that had the palsy; and He healed them.

Matthew 8:16-17, When the even was come, they brought unto Him many that were possessed with devils: and He cast out the spirits with His word, and healed all that were sick. That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.

Matthew 12:15, But when Jesus knew it, he withdrew Himself from thence: and great multitudes followed Him, and He healed them all.

Luke 6:19, And the whole multitude sought to touch Him: for there went virtue out of Him, and healed them all.

"Jesus Christ the same yesterday, and to day, and for ever" (Hebrews 13:8)

    Amen.
