    How Revival Comes

Hosea 10:12 Sow for yourselves righteousness, reap the fruit of unfailing love, and break up your unplowed ground; for it is time to seek the LORD, until he comes and showers righteousness on you.

A Revival consists of two parts:
    1. Church
    2. Unsaved

A Revival in the church, Fallow ground is ground that has once been used but now lays waste. It needs to be broken up and mellowed before it is again ready to receive grain.

How does revival come to people like us?

If you want to break up the fallow ground of your heart, you must begin by looking at yourself.

    Examine your Heart

Many people never seems to think about this and they never know whether they are doing well in their faith and in Godly values, or fruitful or going to waste. See where you are, now is the time to diver your attention from other things and look into yourself. Self – examination is looking at your self. Examine your individual sins One by One.

    Go on your Knees

Go on your knees, confess your sins one by one to God and ask forgiveness.

7 things we need to be Revived

    1. We have lost our First love. Now is the time to go back to our First Love.
    2. Repent from sin
    3. Humble Themselves
    4. Seek His Face
    5. Pray with tears
    6. Turn from wicked ways
    7. Confession

    Keys to the Revival

    2nd Chronicles 7:14
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

As a Christians we have become careless. We are like a fireman who continues to sleep; a fire is burning down a city. We care like a doctor who refuses to help a person who is dying. Without Revival there would be less people converted than those who would die and go to hell.

2nd Chronicles 7:14; If My People,

This is not for those who don’t know the Lord or follow Him. Christians you go to the power. You are the reason for the season. We are the people; we are the generation which is called by His name.

    Shall humble them selves,

God commended us to humble ourselves. James 4:10 says, Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up. 1st Peter 5:6 says, Humble yourselves, therefore, under God's mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. A person may behave humble towards others, yet be proud.

    Pray,

Prayer is communication between a Father and His children. Now, it is very important to realize that these types of prayer, “Desperate prayer” means wrestling, agonizing prayer. We need of weeping, pleading, wrestling, in prayer. When you need revival, rise up in prayer. When prayer groups began to “Wrestle” with God in prayer, the Revival begins. In fact, an “Outpouring of the Holy Spirit” is the essence of what Revived truly is. Psalm 126:5 says, “Those who sow in tears will reap with songs of joy. This is more than preaching with Zeal. More than talk a talk. God gave us prescription for our healing, both as individual and a nation. That is Revival.

Solomon has asked that God would honor the building that they are dedicating.

2nd Chronicles 7:14; If My People,

This is not for those who don’t know the Lord or follow Him. Christians you go to the power. You are the reason for the season. We are the people; we are the generation which is called by His name.

God is going to tell Solomon that He will be honoring Solomon’s prayer, but it’s not going to be a matter of people simply praying toward the temple. God isn’t going to honor prayers toward the temple when a person’s heart is not in the right place. 2nd Chronicles 7:13 says, "When I shut up the heavens so that there is no rain, or command locusts to devour the land or send a plague among my people. God would prefer that we seek Him and turn away from sins.

What is a locust? – Locusts are the heaviest calamities that can befall a land. Locusts are a type of insect that can be devastating pets, agriculture due to their ability to form into dense and highly mobile swarm.

What is a Pestilence? – Plagues, a serious infection. Any epidemic disease with a high death rate. It’s a disease.

    Seek His Face,
Seek His Face, Not His Hand. When you and I seek His face, we go before Him just to be with Him. It is important for us to come before Him with praise & worship. Adoration changes us. Psalm 27:7 says, “Hear my voice when I call, O LORD; be merciful to me and answer me. “My heart says” seek His face, your face, Lord do I seek.” Lord says to Moses “My presence will go with you, and I will give you rest” Hebrew language means for “My presence” – “My face”, so the Lord’s promise to Moses is “My face will go with you”. When it comes to God, His face stands for His whole being, Character & attributes.

    Turn from sin

Until the Christian confess and forsake known sin in their life, we can not pray for the healing of his nation. Psalm 66:18 says, “If I had cherished sin in my heart, the Lord would not have listened. Isaiah 59:1-2 says, “Surely the arm of the LORD is not too short to save, nor his ear too dull to hear. But your iniquities have separated you from your God; your sins have hidden his face from you, so that he will not hear. David gave us a model to follow when he pleads in Psalm 139: 23-24 “Search me, O God, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. See if there is any offensive way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting. Conviction is the work of the Holy Spirit, but what comes next is our job and that is repentance, which is to change your mind about the sin.

    Confession

Once you know is a sin in your life and have changed your mind about it, you are ready to confess before God your sin. Confession must be specific, not general. The root is till there and the weed still comes out again. The only way to get the root out is through biblical confession. The very moment you confess your sins, your record is clear. True confession means that you get back on track to what you are supposed to be doing.

Healing doesn’t come to from just saying “I’m sorry” it comes from a change in behavior.

“Then” – Once we do the things God has specified, He will do three things.

    “I will hear from heaven”

It is when people follow this prescription,
Revival once meant spiritual renewal. "The Christian's new beginning of obedience to God." Another definition is "the awakening of man's spirit to the Spirit of God." This generation of Christians is more likely to define revival as "three nightly services where a visiting speaker gives a bible message." We need revival when we are not full of the Spirit. We can not serve God effectively without His Fullness. What energy are you working in: The Flesh or the Spirit? You can look at most church members and listen to most preachers and see that the flesh is ruling in their lives. It is then that we have a need for revival!

We must see ourselves as God sees us. We must "humble ourselves." The word means to be brought into subjection, to be subdued. We are the masters of our own destiny; we are the rulers of our dominion. We refuse to allow God to have His rightful place in our lives. If we are to have revival, we must first recognize that God has the ultimate authority in our lives.

We must seek the face of God. What this means is to earnestly desire the fellowship and gaze of God's presence. God cramps the style of today's carnal Christians. We practice separation, but not biblical separation. We want to keep our spiritual lives separate from our everyday lives. There can be no revival with that attitude.

The verse tells us to "turn from our wicked ways..." The word turn carries with it the meaning of a complete change, a restoring, and a relinquishing. Repentance is a change of mind and will. It is a complete turnaround.

Do we want revival? Are we willing to give of ourselves to become the fuel for God's spiritual work?

Will our churches return to the biblical doctrines that have sustained us? Revival is the key!
    Revival is our heritage! Amen!!
